Question: A person has for a good reason broken his fast in the Ramadhân. is he allowed to eat and drink for the rest of the day?

Answer: The one who has broken his fast for good reason can eat and drink for the rest of the day. For his part, that day’s holiness has ended. Thereby he can eat and drink – as opposed to the one who breaks his fast in the Ramadhân without a legitimate reason; he has to continue the fast and also make up for that day. One must distinguish between these two questions.
