Question: A man wants to perform the Hajj and has enough money to buy a house. What takes precedence; performing the Hajj or buying a house?
Answer: Basic needs take precedence, and a house is one of the basic needs. He needs a house, so he should buy a house. If after that he has money beyond his needs, he should perform the Hajj.
